Happy Thursday!

This is an open call for all tired, busy moms that want to connect with other women.

I’m very excited to write this issue because I get to share what I’ve been wanting to do for a long time — bring a beautiful women’s wellness event to Chino, CA. I love flowers, coffee, and hangs, and I’m putting all of this in one event. For my non-mom readers: this is your final reminder that it’s Mother’s Day this Sunday! Maybe this event is a gift idea? 😉

how to not gift someone flowers: chucking a single rose at them

But if you’re like: Hey Kyra, that’s unfair, I’ve been a loyal reader but I’m Enrique and I’m a 42 male who enjoys whiskey and cars (or insert other description of yourself). Don’t worry. I’m also bringing more co-ed events in the future, stay tuned😆.

Anyway, scroll right down ahead to see our very first inaugural event…

Let’s get into it.

💐 Something Beautiful is Coming to Chino — Bloom & Balance coming May 30th.

Chino Valley Moms — this one’s for you.

Remember the times before your life got so full, when you could wake up and do your favorite leisurely routine on weekends? It might have included a great cup of coffee, a grounding workout just for yourself, some fresh blooms at the Farmer’s Market, and a heart-to-heart with friends over bites or brunch.

This one is near and dear to me because that’s exactly what my Saturdays used to look like. Recently, after kids, it hasn’t looked the same. I still desire the moments I get to treat myself, but I’ve been rushing through them, pretending like the one-hour massage at a place I chose for budget and not quality is going to fix my deep inner desire of relaxing and connecting with other women in a beautiful setting.

we’re working with expert design team Always Particular. this is what we’re going for!

That’s why we’re launching The Good Season Co. — an elevated event series for women with full lives, made just for them. Forget the matching sets, shake off the guilt of missing that workout last week, and just show up. Not a mom? You’re still welcome! It’s for anyone who wants to enjoy a sweet, elevated morning with likeminded women in the IE.

Our first event is Bloom & Balance — May 30th, 10am-12:30pm, in Chino CA (location revealed to registered guests only).

Save the date — or gift this session to someone, it’s almost Mother’s Day!.

What to Expect: You’ll get to enjoy a gentle group mat workout, savor a nice cup of coffee (on us!), and get to pick out a complimentary flower bouquet of fresh blooms to take home while you meet some curated vendors that nourish our souls (I promise everything will be pretty!).

Early bird pricing starts now, limited seats available.

🍱 Crispy Chicken, Big Portions, and a Photo Booth Too at Katsu Bar

Katsu Bar is one of those newer spots in Chino that feels simple in the best way. The menu centers around different styles of katsu, including rice bowls, plates, and katsu sandos, with portions that are generous enough to probably leave with leftovers.

We tried the chicken bowl along with the hot and spicy chicken sandwich, and both had really solid flavor without feeling too heavy. Inside, the space feels clean and modern, and there’s even a photo booth tucked into the restaurant which gives the place a little extra personality without overdoing it.

The staff also took time to walk us through the menu and made the whole experience feel genuinely welcoming. Definitely feels like one of those spots locals will keep coming back to.

🐶May’s Pet of the Month is… Sadie!

Sadie’s story started on the streets of Rosarito, but these days she’s living the spoiled life she deserves. After being rescued twice and raising nine puppies, this sweet mama finally found her forever home, despite her family originally planning on having “no more dogs.” Now she spends her days going on walks, hanging out with her dog sibling, and soaking up all the attention she can get. 💕

Building a Better Bowl!

If your pet has been eating the same food for years, switching up proteins like chicken, salmon, or lamb every now and then can help support better nutrition and reduce the risk of food sensitivities. Mixing different food types like wet, dry, frozen, or raw options can also keep mealtime more interesting for picky eaters.

Benefits of rotational feeding:
• Encourages nutrient variety
• Helps reduce food boredom
• Introduces new flavors and textures
• Supports overall wellness

If you’ve been thinking about changing up your pet’s routine, the team at Pet Wants Chino Hills can help you explore different options that fit your pet’s needs.

🏡 Growing Your Own Food, and Maybe Your Future Home Too

🌱 Gardening is Having a Moment in Chino Hills

Gardening has been having a moment around Chino Hills lately, so much that the Chino Hills Gardening Club launched last summer to connect local growers and encourage residents to grow more of their own food, whether that’s in a backyard, on a patio, or even from a sunny windowsill.

Their next seed, plant, and harvest swap is happening May 16 at 11 a.m. at the Fairfield Ranch Gazebo in Chino Hills. If you’re interested in joining or keeping up with future meetups, you can find more information through their Instagram and Facebook.

💵 Mortgage Update for Self-Employed Buyers

For freelancers, business owners, and 1099 earners, qualifying for a mortgage can sometimes feel more complicated than it needs to be. Since traditional loans rely heavily on tax returns, write-offs can sometimes make income look lower on paper than it actually is.

Some newer loan programs are designed specifically for self-employed buyers, allowing qualification through bank statements instead of tax returns, along with more flexible income calculations and lower down payment options. With inventory still moving quickly in parts of Chino Valley, having financing lined up early can make a big difference when it comes time to compete for a home.

Whether you're buying, selling, or just running the numbers, our local partners have you covered. Reach out to Taylor Winkler for listings and strategy, and connect with Dillon Perry to get your financing dialed in before you start shopping.
