BrowBiz Studio x Radiant Face Aesthetics

Hello Everyone,

Anyone else still recovering from daylight savings? I know it was Sunday but my internal clock is holding a grudge.

me after daylight savings wondering why im so tired

The wind hasn't helped either — it's been giving "hold onto your trash cans and your freshly done hair." Anyway. March Madness brackets are out, the weather is all over the place, and we've got things happening locally.

I just heard that the Chino Night Market is coming back on Fridays, which is exciting. St. Paddy’s Brewfest is this Saturday at the Shoppes, hosted by Chino Valley Fire. This, and lots more happening this weekend — check out our events section!

Let's get into it.

Brows and Botox walk into a bar — turns out, they're both in Chino now.

BrowBiz Studio does the kind of brow work that makes people ask if you got a haircut, a nose job, or eight hours of sleep. (It's the brows. It's always the brows.) Lamination, waxing, personalized mapping — your face, but dialed in.

Next door in the self-care universe: Radiant Face Aesthetics. They lead with regenerative treatments before jumping to injectables, because good skin is a long game, not a quick fix. When you're ready for something more, they're there too.

Two businesses. One zip code. Zero excuses.

Self-care doesn't have to mean a 45-minute drive to Rancho. It's right here. Check them out today!

Here are some things that happened around us, in 60 seconds or less.

Business & Development

  • 🚗 $33.5M "smart freeway" pilot launching in May on northbound 15 in Temecula using sensors and adaptive ramp meters to regulate traffic flow. First of its kind in California, runs through May 2028.

  • ⚖️ Supreme Court ruled 6-3 that California teachers can inform parents of child's gender transition, reinstating lower court ruling and blocking enforcement of SAFETY Act (AB 1955). Case returns to Ninth Circuit.

  • 🎓 Vanya Quiñones appointed Cal Poly Pomona's seventh president effective July 1. First Latina president, currently leads Cal State Monterey Bay. Replaces Soraya M. Coley after decade tenure.

Community

  • 🐍 Rattlesnakes emerging from hibernation in Chino Hills through October. Maintain six-foot distance, call Inland Valley Humane Society (909) 594-9858 for removal. In case of bite, call 911 immediately.

  • 🐾 Animal Resource Center overcrowded with 110 dogs, 35 cats. Since opening July, euthanized 323 dogs and 650 cats (59% kittens under 5 months). Operating at 79% save rate, below 90% no-kill threshold.

The Digest

California Institution for Men is reactivating Facility D as minimum-security housing for 800-1,000 inmates in May, two years after converting it to medical-only use. The facility became controversial in 2018 when an inmate escaped through a broken fence after hiding in a percolation pond, prompting Chino Police to cite lack of security, staffing, and lighting. CDCR says it has since fortified Facility D with anti-climb mesh, "ankle-breaker" rocks, and 24-hour armed mobile patrol. The reactivation will provide 90 additional staff positions from the closing California Rehabilitation Center in Norco, but city officials—who requested a state audit of CIM last June—were not informed beforehand and have "serious concerns."

Stop Zillow-spying on homes you can't afford for fun....alone 😉

We’re bringing back everyone’s favorite corner in the Chew. But this time, with two trusted partners.

Buying a home without a good agent and lender is like planting a garden without a plan. You'll end up with weeds where you wanted roses. (Taylor Winkler would know — she runs the Chino Hills Garden Club.)

Taylor is a local real estate agent who actually knows these streets, and Dillon Perry from Mpower Mortgage comes from a family that's been getting people into homes for three generations. They're teaming up in The Chino Chew as your RE Corner — your go-to source for all things buying, selling, and lending in the Valley.

Whether you're a first-timer, refinancing, or just Zillow-scrolling at midnight (no judgment), these two are your people: Local, Knowledgeable, and Rooting for you.
