Hello Chino Valley.

There was a big gas-leak induced explosion & fire in Chino Hills on Sunday. Some people even felt the explosion. The Sotelo Familyโ€™s home was burned down and eight have been injured, including their little children. Two of the children are intubated, and other family members are suffering from 2nd, 3rd degree burns.

NYT

The family is in need to help. Thereโ€™s a GoFundMe linked here for monetary donations. They also need clothing & shoes donations, for children as young as 5 months old. Please bring donations to Los Serranos Market, 4283 Descanso, Chino Hills. Letโ€™s show them how our Chino Valley community is here for them.

Hoping for fast recovery of all injured.

Letโ€™s get into it.

P.s. There wonโ€™t be an issue next week as we break for Thanksgiving ๐Ÿ™‚ Weโ€™ll miss you guys and hopefully you miss us back. Gobble gobble. ๐Ÿฆƒ

Weโ€™re going over Chinoโ€™s General Plan together. This week: Location, Location, Location.

Chino sits at the sweet spot where Los Angeles, Riverside, and San Bernardino Counties meet - 36 miles east of LA, 30 miles west of San Bernardino, 25 miles from Anaheim. We're connected to everywhere that matters: SR-60 runs east-west through the city, SR-71 forms our western edge linking to Orange County via SR-91, and we're 10 miles from Ontario International Airport (thanks, Ontario!โœŒ)

This geography is our economic superpower. Manufacturing, wholesale trade, logistics, and warehousing anchor our local economy because businesses know Chino is the distribution sweet spot for the entire Southern California region. Chino Airport - the largest non-commercial airport within 20 miles - serves independent pilots, flight schools, and corporate users. The General Plan prioritizes keeping these advantages strong: attracting and retaining diverse businesses, supporting local entrepreneurs, building workforce development, and making strategic infrastructure investments.

The goal? A stable, thriving economy that creates jobs for residents while maintaining our community character. Business growth that serves Chino, not just passes through it.

Next week: what's actually inside the General Plan's 8 chapters.

Chino Valley, meet Taylor Winkler. If you remember, she showed us the beautiful 4-bedroom house for rent in Ontario.

Taylor is a Chino Hills native of 27+ years, with real estate in her family. Sheโ€™s assisted hundreds of families in our region buying and selling homes, all across Southern California. Her razor-sharp focus on stress-free customer service means you get to relax, even while going through some big real estate moves!

She also happens to be our fearless leader of our one and only Chino Hills Gardening Club of 432 local garden enthusiasts, as featured on the Chino Champion๐Ÿชด!
