There was a big gas-leak induced explosion & fire in Chino Hills on Sunday. Some people even felt the explosion. The Sotelo Family’s home was burned down and eight have been injured, including their little children. Two of the children are intubated, and other family members are suffering from 2nd, 3rd degree burns.

The family is in need to help. There’s a GoFundMe linked here for monetary donations. They also need clothing & shoes donations, for children as young as 5 months old. Please bring donations to Los Serranos Market, 4283 Descanso, Chino Hills. Let’s show them how our Chino Valley community is here for them.

We're connected to everywhere that matters: SR-60 runs east-west through the city, SR-71 forms our western edge linking to Orange County via SR-91, and we're 10 miles from Ontario International Airport (thanks, Ontario!✌)

This geography is our economic superpower. Manufacturing, wholesale trade, logistics, and warehousing anchor our local economy because businesses know Chino is the distribution sweet spot for the entire Southern California region. Chino Airport - the largest non-commercial airport within 20 miles - serves independent pilots, flight schools, and corporate users. The General Plan prioritizes keeping these advantages strong: attracting and retaining diverse businesses, supporting local entrepreneurs, building workforce development, and making strategic infrastructure investments.

The goal? A stable, thriving economy that creates jobs for residents while maintaining our community character. Business growth that serves Chino, not just passes through it.
