The Digest: A Turbulent Week Across the Valley
The FBI served warrants Tuesday at the Chino home of Supervisor Curt Hagman, a Chino Hills location tied to his office, an Ontario residence, and a Beverly Hills mansion, as part of a sealed federal investigation. Agents were seen removing boxes from Hagman's property; officials have released no details on the probe's focus.
And early Wednesday, a 24-hour WinCo Foods in Pomona was evacuated after a report of shots fired by a man dressed in black; a police robot dog swept the store, but no suspect or evidence of gunfire was found, and employees returned by 6:30 a.m.
In other breaking news, two people were found dead in Chino Hills after deputies responding to reports of gunfire on Monteverde Drive pursued a suspect vehicle to Wandering Ridge Drive, where a body was discovered in the car's trunk and the driver was fatally shot after opening the trunk in front of deputies. Three very different investigations, all a bit heavy, played out within 48 hours around the Chino Valley region.
