Hello, Chino Valley!!!
Did you know that Chino is home to a piece of the classic movie Back to the Future?
The iconic โLyon Estatesโ entranceโwhere Marty drives up to those stone gateposts and a billboard for future homesโwas shot on farmland off Cucamonga Ave, near Prado Airpark. Back in โ85, the valley was wide open dairy land, perfect for pretending it was 1955 suburbia-in-the-making.

if you had a time machine, to when & where would you travel to? as for me, i like any time past the invention of central A/C hehe
Today, the exact dirt road is gated (no sneaking in, folks!), but you can still line up the hills and skyline from the street and feel a little movie magic. Itโs one of those hidden-in-plain-sight facts that makes Chino part of Hollywood history. Next time youโre cruising past Prado, just imagine Marty in the DeLorean, hitting 88 mph right where our dairies once stood.

Enough with the blast to the past; now we look to the future: we have the last little bit of August as it beckons us with more family fun events. As always, we have an action-packed list with something for everyone.
Letโs get into it.

Here are some things that happened around us, in 60-ish seconds:
Business & Development
๐จ Chino Hillsโ Downtown Art Gallery at the Shoppes is moving to a smaller location, and is having a downsizing sale until their move in October. Lots of amazing pieces from local talent for a reduced price! Letโs show our support for local art โ they are open Wednesdays 5-7pm, Fridays 6-8pm (perfect to swing by during your trip to Chino Hills Heritage Farmerโs market).

๐ง๐ปโโ๏ธ Revive Prana MedSpa is having a grand opening Aug 30! Refreshments and 70% off on certain procedures for your lips and face. Come rejuvenate with us โ scroll down to our events section for more info.
๐ Some controversy surrounding the construction of โOjos Locosโ at the former Marie Callenderโs on Philadelphia Ave. Ojos Locos is also known as the โMexican Hootersโ (according to Wikipedia), and city of Downey enforced a dress code when they were getting their location. What are your thoughts?
๐ฃ Pine Ave is widening! If you remember, we made a joke about always being late to work because of traffic on Pineโฆ construction to be completed early 2026! Thank you Chino ๐

Anyone love sushi?๐ This week, we visited the Sake2Me on 4029 Grand Ave., Chino. They had both AYCE (all-you-can-eat) and a la carte options available. The sushi AYCE was $40, and sashimi AYCE was $65. But hereโs the best part: the sashimi AYCE option came with a FREE whole deep fried lobster PER PERSON!!! ๐ฆ๐คฏ
Needless to say, the Chino Chew team feasted. Sushi was actually great quality compared to other AYCE places, and the rolls had very generous portions. Be careful, you get charged for leftovers. The service was a bit slow in between rounds, but the place was a great time for everyone! Check them out!
