Ontario Tower Buzzers

Hi Chino Chew,

We have another issue so jam-packed with news around town that we will have to make this intro super short.

It’s Father’s Day this weekend. I know these holidays can be a time of celebration, grief, missing someone, or feeling grateful. Wherever you are in your journey, I hope you can take a moment this weekend…

if it’s hard for you to celebrate father’s day, maybe we can all dress up as darth vader on our july 10 Star Wars night at the Buzzers

Let’s get into it.

⚾ Quakes Take the Series Finale in Ontario

The Ontario Tower Buzzers may not have come away with the win on Tuesday night, but fans were treated to an exciting late-game rally and a few standout offensive moments in a 13–5 matchup against the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes.

After falling behind early, the Buzzers continued battling and broke through in the eighth inning. Martinus delivered an RBI triple to bring home a run, and Chase Harlan followed with a two-run home run that energized the crowd and sparked a four-run inning.

Ontario's lineup continued to put pressure on the Quakes late, adding another run in the ninth and finishing the night with eight hits. Martinus, Harlan, Kōki Kō, Connor O’Neal, and Osorio all contributed at the plate, while the pitching staff combined for 11 strikeouts.

While the final score wasn't what the Buzzers were hoping for, the team's fight through the final innings gave fans plenty to cheer about. With summer baseball in full swing, it’s also a great time for you to join other Chewies for Family Night Out July 10th!⚾

🛣 Euclid Bridge project needs your input

History Corner is back — we're taking a look at the projects and plans shaping Chino's future. This week: The Euclid Avenue Bridge Project.

Euclid Avenue is one of Chino's most important north-south corridors, connecting residents, commuters, and goods movement throughout the region. The current bridge over Chino Creek has long faced challenges related to flooding, traffic capacity, and safety. To address those issues, the City is proposing a major reconstruction project that would elevate the bridge above the 50-year flood level, widen the roadway from two lanes to four, and add new bicycle and pedestrian facilities.

The project is designed to improve traffic flow, strengthen regional connectivity, and modernize aging infrastructure while also expanding access for cyclists and pedestrians. One interesting detail is that the existing bridge could be repurposed as a dedicated wildlife crossing, helping reduce impacts near Chino Creek while preserving an important connection for local wildlife. The project is currently in the environmental review phase, where studies and community feedback will help guide the next steps before final design and construction. If you're interested in seeing the proposed improvements for yourself, you can explore the project's interactive StoryMap or review the environmental documents and submit comments through July 23.

If you've been looking for a Pilates studio to try, Pilates Circle in Eastvale is worth having on your radar. We recently got to experience their instruction firsthand during our Good Season Co. event, where their team led the workout and brought a great balance of encouragement and challenge to the group.

The studio offers a wide variety of classes for different experience levels, whether you're completely new to Pilates or looking to take your practice further. Their instructors are welcoming and approachable, but don't be surprised if they push you a little outside your comfort zone in the best way possible.

Beyond regular classes, Pilates Circle also hosts private events and offers one-on-one sessions. Combined with a beautiful studio space and a strong sense of community, it's easy to see why they've become a favorite for many local residents.
