🫒 Good Food, Good Company

The October dinner for The Chino Chew Dinner Club brought 42 people together across Chino, Chino Hills, Eastvale, and Ontario Ranch, with seven local restaurants in the mix.
From Casa Diaz and Islands, to Owen's Bistro, Oyishi Sushi, Le DEE Thai Cuisine, Crying Tiger, and Picanha Steak Restaurant, there were plenty of local spots to try. We loved seeing all the selfies from each restaurant!
Half the crew kept the night going afterward at the afterparty held at Kenwood’s in Chino, where the bigger crowd meant more fun. We finally had name tags this time, too!!

🪴 Local Developments & New Benefits for Veterans

Ever see a post about a new development in Chino Valley and wonder where people are getting their information? Turns out, much of it is publicly available, and you don't need to be a real estate expert to find it.
Both Chino and Chino Hills provide access to planning documents, development proposals, and public meeting materials. Residents can explore the Chino Hills Planning Division and Agendas & Minutes, or visit Chino's Planning Division and Meeting Portal to see what's being considered around town.
One helpful tip? Don't stop at the agenda title. Staff reports and attachments often include important details about a project's location, status, and whether it's being requested, recommended, or already approved. Checking the document's date can also help put things into perspective.
There's also an important update for California veterans. Under Senate Bill 296, new property tax exemptions are set to take effect January 1, 2027. Veterans with a 100% service-connected disability rating may qualify for an exemption covering 50% of the first $1 million of their primary residence's assessed value. For qualifying households earning $83,474 or less annually, that exemption increases to 100% of the first $1 million. Eligible homeowners must apply through their county assessor.

🍳 A Little Something Different for Brunch

If you're looking to switch up your usual brunch order, Take Ur Seat brings a mix of American breakfast classics and Asian-inspired flavors to Chino Hills and Ontario.
Founded in 2018 by Mike and Mira, the restaurant grew out of a simple idea: good food tastes even better when you're sharing it with family and friends. That same welcoming, family-oriented atmosphere is still at the heart of what they do.
The menu has plenty to explore. You'll find familiar favorites like French toast and fluffy cloud pancakes alongside dishes like the Kimchi Fried Rice Omelette, Longanisa Rice Bowl, and Spam Musubi. Their coffee menu gets creative, too, with options like the Pandan Latte, made with a nutty vanilla flavor and palm sugar, and the Mexican Sidecar, which combines espresso, horchata, cinnamon, and cream. My favorite is the pork rice bowl with a classic cappucino.
Whether you're in the mood for a traditional breakfast or something a little different, there's a good chance you'll find both at the same table.
