Hello Chino Chewies,

If you've been online this week, you've probably seen "lettuce" trending for reasons no one wanted. There's a nationwide outbreak of cyclosporiasis — a parasite linked to salad greens and other fresh produce — with over 3,000 cases and counting.

a good time to just “toss” the salad.… AWAY

So if you needed an excuse to skip the salad, here it is. On a lighter note, The Odyssey drops tomorrow (Zendaya’s make up has been on pointe this press tour), and Project Hail Mary finally hit streaming if you are a space nerd (I fell asleep watching it last night, so I have to catch up tonight). Here's what's happening locally.

Let’s get into it.

Here are some things that happened around us, in 60 seconds or less.

Ontario Tower Buzzers Keep the Momentum Going

If you've been looking for a reason to catch a local ballgame, the Ontario Tower Buzzers are making a pretty good case. The team picked up a 4–2 win over the Inland Empire 66ers, improving to 46–41 with another strong all-around performance.

Ontario got on the board with home runs from Jaron Elkins and Easton Shelton before breaking a 1–1 tie in the sixth inning. Connor O'Neal came through with a two-run single that gave the Buzzers the lead for good, and Shelton added some insurance with another solo shot in the eighth.

The Tower Buzzers continue to build momentum this season, making each home game worth keeping an eye on. If you haven't made it out to the ballpark yet, now might be a good time to change that.

The Tower Buzzers have plenty of baseball left this season, making now a great time to head out, grab a hot dog, and cheer on the hometown team.

🥟 One More Bite, Please

Some restaurants make a great first impression before the food even hits the table, and One More Bite Dumpling is one of them. Tucked into a shopping center in Chino, the bright, beautifully designed space feels much more upscale than you might expect, creating the perfect setting for everything from a casual lunch to dinner with friends and family.

The menu is packed with authentic Chinese favorites, making it easy to order a little bit of everything and share. We especially loved the Black Truffle Fried Rice, Fried Beef Noodles, Pork Wonton Soup, Pork & Shrimp Shumai, crispy Popcorn Chicken, and Coconut Balls to finish things off. The drinks were just as memorable, arriving beautifully presented with just the right amount of sweetness.

One thing you'll notice after reading through reviews is how often people mention the service. Guests consistently praise the friendly staff, quick service, and attention to detail, whether it's recommending dishes, checking in throughout the meal, or simply making everyone feel welcome. It's the kind of hospitality that makes a good meal even better.

If you've been meaning to give One More Bite Dumpling a try, you'll just have to wait a little longer. The restaurant is temporarily closed and will reopen on August 1, giving you plenty of time to decide which dumplings, noodles, or dim sum dishes you'll order first.

📍15709 Euclid Ave., Ste E, Chino, CA 91708

📆 Reopening August 1; 🕒 Monday & Wednesday–Sunday, 11:30am–9:00pm (Closed Tuesdays)
