Happy August, Chino!!!
Last night, a 3.5 magnitude earthquake broke out near Eastvale. I certainly jerked up from sleep! Did anyone else feel that shaking?! 🙋
But anyways, we’re already in August 🏖. While I’m not ready for summer to end soon, I am excited for the end of this: FLIES. Because tell me, when do flies ever end?? Here’s a live footage of me trying to enjoy my time on the patio:

of course that’s not me. but the fly was probably from Chino. most famous fly on National TV.
But the end of summer will be here soon Chino! Let’s make it worth it.
Chino’s CORE Academy starts
National Night Out recap!
More warehouses, a demolished church, and a shipping container food court
… and as always, your weekend event lineup 🎉
Let’s get into it.

Anybody love the old-timey glass milk bottles?! 🥛 🍪 I swear the milk expiration date triples in a glass bottle compared to a paper carton*. Plus, returning the milk jars for the $2 deposit means its free money for me to go buy snacks. Magic math, right? (*NOT real science haha)
If this makes you crave real milk the way it should be (we’re a dairy town after all!), drop by the Chinos Farm Fresh Dairy. Humble yet mighty, it stocks many different flavors from Rosa Brother’s (and sometimes also has Broguiere's, my personal favorite).
Here’s what else happened in Chino, in 60 seconds or less:
🏗 Chino City Council said yes to 60,000+ sqft of self-storage to be built on the East Side of Monte Vista.
👮 National Night Out happened on Aug 5th, and we got to see the coolest cop car on the planet: the BEARCAT. Brb, applying to be official batman of the city.
📦 Shipping container style food court will be built on the site of Gateway Karis Church, with a 158,000+ sqft warehouses alongside it.
🎃 Halloween Spooktacular hosted by the city is looking for vendors and sponsors! Showcase your business to Chino!
✏ Over 500 students & families benefited from the back-to-school giveaway from the City’s HOPE program. Thank you Chino!
⚖️ City Council’s regular meeting was cancelled for this month.
🏙 The CORE Academy started for the 25 residents that will learn about city inner workings for six weeks.
